If you encounter the error mentioned above, it indicates that you have archived or merged the contact related to the invoice in Xero. To resolve this issue, you will need to restore the archived or merged contact. Here's some important information about contacts in Xero:

  • In Xero, you cannot directly delete a contact, but you can archive a contact that you no longer engage in business with.

  • Archived contacts, along with their transactions, can still be viewed in reports. However, the transactions created for the archived contact will not be deleted. This includes any outstanding invoices or bills associated with them.

  • If you have previously archived or merged a contact, you have the option to restore it along with all its activity details. However, it's essential to ensure that no other contact exists with the same name to prevent conflicts. Once the contact is restored, you can then send bookings to this customer from the KennelBooker integration.

To restore a contact that you have archived or merged in Xero, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Contacts menu and select "All contacts."

  2. Click on the "Archived" tab to view all archived contacts.

  3. Locate the specific contact you want to restore and click on it to access their details.

  4. Inside the contact details, you should see an option to "Restore." Click on it.

  5. A confirmation prompt will appear. Click "Restore" again to confirm the restoration.
