1. Duplicate Document Number Error
If you receive the error "Duplicate Document Number Error: You must specify a different number. This number has already been used." or similar when trying to push a booking/payment across to your QBO account.
You can easily fix it by following these steps:
1. Open your QBO and navigate to Settings >> Account and Settings >> Sales
2. Check that 'Custom transaction numbers' is turned OFF
If its on you can turn it off by clicking the edit button, and then clicking the 'Custom transaction numbers' checkbox.
3. Then go back to QBO Settings >> Account and Settings >> Advanced
4. Check that 'Warn if duplicate check/bill number is used' is also turned OFF, you can turn this off by clicking the edit button and clicking the corresponding checkbox.
2. The name supplied already exists
When you get this error:
Detail: The name supplied already exists. : Another customer, supplier, or employee is already using this name. Please use a different name.,
Message: Duplicate Name Exists Error
This is because KennelBooker is attempting to create a customer named "John Doe" (for example), and there is already a vendor or employee named “John Doe”, or “Doe, John”.
Unfortunately, QuickBooks does not allow you to have customers, vendors or employees with the same name, even if it is set inactive.
To fix this problem, please search your list of vendors and employees in QuickBooks to find one with the same name (“John Doe”, or “Doe, John”) and change their name to something like “Doe - Customer, John”, or “John Doe - Customer”. You may also have to search your list of customers with the option to view inactive enabled.
Now go back to the QuickBooks screen and try to Resend the bookings.
3. Please use GroupLineDetail with bundles
If you're receiving this error when syncing an invoice/receipt, you can fix the problem by modifying some setting in QuickBooks.
Invalid bundle entry in SalesItemLineDetail: Invalid bundle id X passed to SalesItemLineDetail.ItemRef. Please use GroupLineDetail with bundles.
This error will occur when a Service is created in QuickBooks as a Product/Service, then is manually changed to a Bundle in QuickBooks.
To correct this issue:
Login to QuickBooks
Locate the Products/Services page
Change the Product in question from a Bundle to a Service. You may need to re-create it as a Service.
If you recreate the service in QuickBooks you may need to update the service code in KennelBooker.

If you get the following error when trying to send a booking over to QuickBooks
Validation Exception was thrown.Details:Invalid Reference Id : Categories cannot be used in transactions
It is because you have a Item Ref set for either the Booking Type, one of the Additional Services, or a Products added to a booking, that is category identifier.
